Independent Agent In Field

  • Develops base for long-term sources of clients by using referrals, occupational, and special-interest groups to compile lists of prospects.
  • Approaches potential clients by utilizing mailings and phone solicitation; making presentations to groups at company-sponsored gatherings; speaking publicly to community groups on the subject of Medicare.
  • Determines clients' particular needs and financial situations by scheduling fact-finding appointments; determining extent of present coverage and investments; ascertaining long-term goals.
  • Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans.
  • Develops a coordinated protection plan by calculating and quoting rates for immediate coverage action and long-term strategy implementation.
  • Obtains underwriting approval by completing application for coverage.
  • Completes coverage by delivering policy; planning future follow-up visits and evaluations of needs.
  • Provides death benefits by delivering policy proceeds; reassessing client needs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

     Job Requirements

    Hold high school diploma or equivalent, have experience building relationships and maintaining long-term contact with prospects and clients, some secondary education is preferred, computer literacy and must have own vehicle, cell phone and tablet. Agents must be licensed in the states where they work.

    This is a commission based position. Administrative support will be provided.

    Plans are insured or covered by a Medicare Advantage (HMO, PPO and PFFS) organization with a Medicare contract and/or a Medicare approved Part D sponsor. Enrollment in the plan depends on the plan's contract renewal with Medicare.

    • ​Maintain online customer database and update as needed.
    • Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services and to handle and resolve complaint.
    • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
    • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
